When we were the Sick Man of Asia, We were called The Yellow Peril.
+ Z* C6 {/ U, [5 P  |' e$ _' OWhen we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are called The Threat.
$ E) s7 a( Y3 u( TWhen we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to our open markets.
# R6 z) T, n$ ~3 T$ mWhen we embrace Free Trade, You blame us for taking away your jobs.
When we were falling apart, You marched in your troops and took what you wanted.
When we tried to put the broken pieces back together again, Free Tibet you screamed, It Was an Invasion!
& d. J! `3 m: w3 L9 P9 EWhen we tried Communism, you hated us for being Communist.
! x: w& U1 T9 L$ MWhen we embrace Capitalism, you ridicule us for being Capitalist.
! n" R( A( c: u* Z: }) VWhen we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.
When we tried limiting our numbers, you said we abused human rights.
/ }  p, t8 z3 D/ I; q/ yWhen we were poor, you thought we were dogs.
When we loan you cash, you blame us for your national debt. When we build our industries, you call us Polluters.
- \7 m$ T8 i: F7 U) y7 @6 q* IWhen we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.
7 J# ^7 s% c3 R7 O4 B" kWhen we buy oil, you call it exploitation and genocide.
* @9 D: T- \8 a8 l" h/ qWhen you go to war for oil, you call it liberation.
When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you demanded rules of law.
% e2 ^9 G; w* _* G, s( `& MWhen we uphold law and order against violence, you call it violating human rights.
When we were silent, you said you wanted us to have free speech.
: B' Z& `  b& q  H# _  HWhen we are silent no more, you say we are brainwashed-xenophobics.
/ G: x5 C- O% x% B' M% h0 GWhy do you hate us so much, we asked.No, you answered, we don't hate you.
1 H+ U* S8 L! kWe don't hate you either.

But, do you understand us?

Of course we do, you said,

Because you only get so many chances.

2 {0 z7 J4 ^% S  kWe want One World, One Dream, and Peace on Earth.
/ h9 u7 d7 G+ f, jThis Big Blue Earth is Big Enough for all of Us.
