By a Silent, Silent Chinese.

; N0 q3 O; E, Q) A& r# |* O% JWhen we were called the Sick Man of Asia, we were the Yellow Peril.
/ k7 u/ h% }8 f9 V& qWhen we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are a threat.

When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to our markets.
) o& S$ D' t. G5 e! yWhen we embraced Free Trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your “fair share”.
; ]2 \  k0 f( k9 ~% s% uWhen we were putting the broken pieces together again, “Free Tibet” you scream, “it was an invasion!”

So, we tried communism, you hated us for being communists
0 y* K0 X0 T$ m5 s4 w' V- F5 y0 rWhen we embraced capitalism, you hate us for being capitalists.

+ n$ D" @9 l7 G4 l9 c; X4 B0 n3 X1 nWhen we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.
- J; p- e+ T: s6 F" L1 IWhen we tried limiting our numbers, you said it is human rights abuse.

When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.
When we loan you cash, you blame us for your debts.

When we build our industries, you called us polluters.
: u# s, t6 S1 IWhen we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

  C; t* I4 H" w: bWhen we buy oil, you call that exploitation and genocide.
' q1 U: T2 i. hWhen you fight for oil, you call that liberation and democracy.

- g' x6 ?  n8 n1 P% G1 ^When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you wanted rule of law for us.
When we uphold law and order against violence, you call that violating human rights.

$ z/ c# J9 b7 ~) c0 _/ cWhen we were silent, you said you want us to have free speech.
5 N' D/ R4 M$ R9 d: iWhen we were silent no more, you say we are brainwashed racists.

4 Y' b- h% ]" Q& [“No,” you answered, “We don’t hate You.”

“Of course we do,” You said,
“We have NBC, CNN and BBCs…”

What do you really want from us?

Because you only get so many chances,

We want one world, one dream, and peace on Earth.
* @: J# H- a- f6 A* PThis big blue Earth is big enough for all of Us.
