Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order: R) j) Z' ^, ~# t

Strathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know. 2 N+ X9 z) u+ p8 n5 I. Z9 W/ L
, j; Z, `5 d m2 q: OAnyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :), C4 t& z' E; H/ S8 J' C- T* D, Q+ g

Vic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...# M& @; o5 Y2 G6 W) u* a$ o: P
4 `9 b8 v' r7 _7 j: A/ pOtherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
