其实cheesy这个词也有别的意思，和肉麻涵盖的范围并不是完全一致的，只是我“研究”至今的最近词汇。油油有啥高见？

have you checked the link that sansi posted here? it's a slang dictionary defined by the readers, to some extent it is similar to wikipedia. I believe that languages are alive, for words like "cheesy", this slang dic can give you a much better idea of its real meaning than traditional ones.

* H; B2 J  g2 Kcliché really means overused, predictable, 陈词滥调, 了无新意.  for example, in chinese shows, to imply that a woman is pregnant , she will always suddenly rush into the washroom and start to vomit, that's a cliche scene. so cliche!
but not rouma at all.
so far I think "cheesy" is really THE word, as per the slang dic.

Slang depends on area, and culture too. Some slangs works in some area but may never work in other areas, meaning if you use it, nobody understand. So I still doubt Cheesy can really mean Rou Ma formaly.

对，我的总结是：cheesy的含义有比肉麻更广，但是肉麻的最接近英文是cheesy

4 _: p9 R3 v5 n5 p这个cliched,我就遵循下面竹帘这个french frog的说法了。

3 M3 x& h, g3 n严重感谢！我查了一下，icky是说“粘粘糊糊恶心的”意思。比如形容icky spider。 我觉得这个词作为肉麻的非常接近！我会尽快把这个词在我的生活里使用，以求加强记忆！再次感谢！

她倒时跟我说了，但我没听懂，说是有点FAKE的意思，比如有人来拍新闻，大家都假装，假装喊口号，那种感觉叫CHEESY,她举例说有个什么残疾人还是得癌了的人，以他名字命名了一个长跑，电视台来拍，大家就都喊什么口号，好像是那个人的名字？给人感觉很FAKE，叫CHEESY.

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents!

cheesy often means "cheap, flimsy and of low quality". However, when it is used to describe food, it usually means "of a lot of cheese"; when describing an emotional/sentimental scenario, it could mean "fake", "of low class",  caused by affectation, which may very much make one to feel "rou ma" , "goose bumps" is just one of its infamous side effects.
