FUNCTIONS:

I% Y+ ?; m7 g+ KAs the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies. This includes:6 ~- J0 ]0 F; e, c' z/ W

· Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.

· Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.3 g+ m8 @! n2 z

· Research and coordination for implementation of new professional accounting and reporting requirements for municipalities., O; J9 B4 V2 Z+ [; T

· University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.8 `- z* K3 k$ I- J$ a2 ^

· A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.; P" P, a# ]- m- M5 l

· Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.' T( R4 h; J1 u3 h; @" t

· A thorough knowledge of municipal accounting and reporting practices and standards.
