Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities, b. B9 M& M0 ~( D/ }2 u# Z
- submit information for community news ) N8 Q7 T9 m- g; B4 `
- provide volunteers to update membership database! B* Q: Q: {4 L
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
1 c; e% v3 L9 Z$ U, f- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
2 E0 Y5 W5 G+ F& P. `- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
# r5 V% S, O) E% a4 ?8 s2 k6 N& B- provide volunteers for various programs
% f8 V( Y4 _1 ^' h& @7 j- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 m" r7 G' U/ K. ]. p+ F
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
; R" x7 [8 Y: `: s: n- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities. }6 @; G" H4 G) ]
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
( y8 h% w: X1 t9 s- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
5 y& f1 n# d; ~2 q8 o; c `4 [- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed1 D6 K9 @& x; |0 |7 N! \
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed8 G) l8 A% c1 `% p
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)3 \0 ~" P" O5 S& P
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ! u7 W: Q0 o1 _% I6 ]5 N
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 3 u8 b9 i" w m
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers / s" R% r* N: a, }! U
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers , C- W: j4 e# e" E3 K5 O9 W
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis * m, q4 ^0 x5 ]* t& ~* U
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 @' W" K9 |5 t- Y& V$ U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills1 y+ `9 G4 z! ?& v+ Z/ X- k
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services, K7 F/ \8 m3 X* B. w& j4 c
- leadership skills2 g8 Y0 O; J% Z. `' d& @" y
- management and supervision skills
