Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

( u( g' }' T H3 cKey Responsibilities. A4 B3 y$ l' |7 }! y! u
- submit information for community news 2 O& A' j; z, r0 K$ s8 Y, ~1 J
- provide volunteers to update membership database/ [' ~& y. F0 ^
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
, G$ R. R# P" y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties/ m9 B% g) M0 |. p5 x
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
/ h& b, X/ f' m9 t0 v- provide volunteers for various programs ( P8 R) a |. f/ N2 [% Q+ _: l
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
?3 n% ?9 p8 S t2 m- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 m! u& O. @; t# P. B& K
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities$ z4 C7 n, I2 `, O* u7 V. O
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services" Q- v2 l. c1 u
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports7 u. b: @; Q2 s, E, J, {6 G
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed Z% s; }: v- S7 G
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
( v5 P* _/ W, G- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# V$ L& a8 a+ P" D% M
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ! V/ g2 ^. q8 z9 n$ I
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual : f/ u" M% d! a/ q
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
) k. c& W H- a2 R d- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers . x: S* {9 b# N7 ?2 z
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ' T& M6 r; z; V
- evaluations
7 b$ U) P) E+ g% f/ t' c9 k- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications& G" P8 {9 P/ ~& [# u
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
! G. r! e! i% U( B- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- z) k% i/ @$ t1 A- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
N9 t* P) E4 T2 P7 t0 _- leadership skills
. I5 G, ^7 Y+ C( n- management and supervision skills
) S! n3 ]& {: J6 `' `7 e- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills: d% H8 n' ^0 b3 d, C6 n/ a/ C
