Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

- submit information for community news
; G( W+ k* I9 r3 x; u% Z- provide volunteers to update membership database. Y( h5 v, G( M* v9 x+ F% K
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers. k! Q$ e+ R9 u7 k! N; I
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties4 t: g, x; ~0 K% V4 ]
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties. [; \. O& ~' q* `6 \ E7 ?
- provide volunteers for various programs $ u6 R' A- Q+ Z! h8 D3 E# v/ ^
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual; h- _9 q- j( v2 c7 h2 u* q4 ^
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation! f; L; n8 {# w! |
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities+ f+ k) K; I" s% T7 V+ n# }
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
9 W9 D% C* l( r. J7 S- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
3 D/ O1 s+ p9 h* u5 U# E) t- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
) n+ m4 X: o1 N8 n8 S- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed5 Q* Y; ~7 b0 p. l/ ?
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
& ~2 W; q; R: s' J! l- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 5 e, t2 C# K% }! }# O
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ; w$ l/ c, s, \% I6 B9 c( T
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 4 A1 n# S8 x! M. S- w: G, {
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
0 ^3 C2 |8 C) O0 y- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications
" K) K5 O/ N d+ C/ W% k- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
9 t: g h! a8 l4 e: K. k9 a+ F1 Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 K( e: G" }7 d, Y, S- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services/ @, ?, k! Y' {" G0 ?4 f
- leadership skills
9 Y' g; w/ y Q8 D; `/ v: ~: `- management and supervision skills7 Q% ?' k7 b5 ]( D
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
