the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional ( @' a$ l4 h; T) ?4 T

breadth and complexity, it is not possible to fully define or

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that 5 d1 }+ F( Z5 Q" b
focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:
0 `0 c D0 ^2 E& f o· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz : f- z" p* o! n& w4 [7 J. n a
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to $ j0 G$ O& U& \% I
take advantage of other internal and external advertising
) m2 D$ O; Z" Q; x6 ^( gopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional & L. L" c; I$ O( ~, f% `2 d
literature on an ongoing basis.

· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the ( M1 F0 C E5 M4 t
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar./ E7 `, ?4 Y. i- t; V

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities

* X" V) m ?/ _/ d8 d$ l* Ca. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- % T$ P5 ?& k" _# }2 ~( R) D2 l
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the ) j8 p; L6 v' z8 |3 t
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 2 A+ |% C5 k% o9 d& K$ Y$ `
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
6 d( w9 K/ _8 x0 j ^( w+ sthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues ! j, B. K" ^% w5 b, v5 V
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,

To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at 2 F; ?2 e; Z' a
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such ; J3 J* F U5 o* V' O
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and 1 `) c* ~, l) {4 g4 ?* A
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
. [5 e( S( Q% k$ d& i1 x5 _is in operation or needs to be in operation.! H- ?$ F. [1 F4 a3 S+ V
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure 0 o* H v: l' \( P9 F4 X) M
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to

renters needs are met.

, G5 H& b# x" {$ [' ~and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
, S! ?7 l8 N4 v9 B- pthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and $ ~" s: r! x2 P0 b3 g' o& s7 V# _
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and & I. |& n! @1 ^5 X/ X
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

excellent customer service to all renters.

' n( ~5 G4 F* R# T2 H8 Rscheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance " j# ]( j/ w, \! e6 p
and direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning # r! G& ?. g {2 K+ ^
the staff of the venues.

the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

# n+ S9 l" d! ]/ vthat additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the ' K2 h1 U( N* n x$ U* D7 o/ W; Q
appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a ( t0 r( i( b; A0 K( c* T! f( O
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This , n; y! m9 k3 a' g

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate 7 f( a: J4 o6 K2 \+ m) X
operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

) |& t. m$ ~1 I# a9 y/ n, f· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively
0 z# F! [$ J* N7 J+ ~; [reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and

compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for

in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,

together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary

" Y h# ~2 y' E5 W+ s Tas may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost- ) b$ W& S/ B+ d8 r6 c% N9 ^
effective operation of the venues.
; v; b, s: `* G5 D7 ]& p# b· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
5 R; O6 s3 l3 v6 W( I2 H# {* \2 vdates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.% S; a* c8 x. T0 |7 e
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
; E, \# R. P) o9 Jthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.3 { u5 J% _1 T0 B+ `& j
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their ! X( p6 [% c! [1 _8 \& {/ q
particular event in the venues.+ d5 q$ C" D) T2 K' I
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and - X {2 F" d3 O1 z
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the
7 J( `8 z4 T! a) Iroles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.8 X# s. l3 k/ h' o! L- W* i; v% Q8 q
· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular

· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
2 }3 j5 \% M0 ?7 o) z2 \SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately # I" f/ L$ `1 g
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
+ z+ v7 K5 S, ?) i7 m8 ufollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
, r; X0 ]! M# y. X2 Y, o+ h l To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,

the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision : Q- e$ X. `# z j' ^
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of ( ~% F, M# G' i! U- I# {* P3 l6 z

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of l+ b G8 s. Q |8 L
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
' f% d% G9 q8 X H/ t# smarketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as 0 g; A. d Y6 _* j/ r6 F: K
may provide such challenges and/or problems.
