extensive, and are targeted at the all round smooth operation and 6 y- }0 }: L7 e' O
financial and operational success of the Horowitz Theatre as well as 6 `& K( B2 N+ \# X
the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that 5 [( ~3 R( g f3 O7 {
focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz ) f6 ]# \) \/ m% R# u5 Q
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to 2 U/ p% T1 m7 \8 d+ R) d- n3 n5 i3 |
take advantage of other internal and external advertising
c/ w9 A, s* Q! ropportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional $ P! Y3 g" R: W0 g/ k; k

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.
$ F% E; p8 q+ \· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the

· To develop new external clients for the venues.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities' F8 K* z4 {4 x4 d: W" D4 O
2 Q/ \ E8 M2 G3 h3 _) La. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
9 q& m5 |1 |) V+ ~- B6 U3 Yeffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
2 g9 ^! R7 J/ z% D+ K5 f8 mvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and & g3 L+ T9 w& v5 {6 ]
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
3 c! Q: _; F# P" [) fthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

, q2 R2 } ?& T/ f4 s+ y· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues
~5 Y5 e; e } {1 gand Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
0 _" i/ J2 G" Y% P6 Eevaluating and terminating, as necessary.
7 k* [) S# @, y, Y3 \7 A# r To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at z& g! H! C! O& C& @/ ?
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such " E( R% }. M: c3 a2 A
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
$ ] J9 g) n0 G6 P, Ncost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it X9 f7 m# G( S3 Y. |3 [! w
is in operation or needs to be in operation.6 R; Q; N- u( _$ ^
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure ! l+ P5 `' [2 D2 l
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to 5 F& v' t6 @9 Y4 U5 v u
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all & z G b: ` c1 i
renters needs are met." V: `* Q+ @& A
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills 4 R# G' I( |5 ]: E4 U. ]$ _2 B; N
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of 6 S! G5 B1 V( I, i5 v, m" S* [
the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
; t) I, d* T8 X0 q+ n3 d4 eeffective training (and re-training) in all applicable and " R; D, V" d9 h" ~3 Z; u
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff 7 ~! S4 t" A0 i0 f1 w/ E7 `5 q2 ]. y
scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance
' B+ X" k% C2 _9 Z9 Vand direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning ' L" r: p" u1 ~, U8 l; c
the staff of the venues.

& ] ^& n, k- e1 w7 xthe appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

4. Overall Financial Performance

a. To ensure, at all times, that the Financial and Administrative - ]2 c7 w1 N; G
systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the
+ X3 E1 n3 G k# r6 lappropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a
8 K5 {3 _' n# A: j9 X- fpositive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This + l8 u9 z# k" p' q" t
includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:3 F. v9 L. r M* V
To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate
- ]; Z' n" F. r/ roperating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of 5 S% t) [4 g$ U( f7 p
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets / h( |2 M# E6 m; j! V
Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance &
, S K% ^" o+ A- ]' E, G0 UAdministration prior to their submission for final approval.
0 G( o; T5 k" J· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively + s" Z* r' |& u5 q- G
reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects % @/ R' S. N* S4 o" \! q
the best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.9 w( P1 o9 ~9 S. I+ v
· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and : H! H+ s/ G+ p! k' ?
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the ( c/ Z/ s! u1 q
compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such
! h2 U) L u* f: n/ rother reports as may be necessary.
) }+ [$ a4 Z$ V* t· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

8 s* U, z8 j( `( X. ?costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and
1 H# K1 j: o) X6 Jsetting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for
* W6 C, P! v* u: Jevents held in the Horowitz Theatre.
0 q- w2 Y4 h. e6 u· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with % L' S) A( e- k
the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely + n: I* k& |2 {4 r% ^, h& M! m
manner to the Accounting Department.

and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

% x% R! O! Z3 g1 _2 Jmay be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this
! G' V- e1 f3 C+ n- f" g+ ~is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes + R4 L# h+ f+ j2 H
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
1 ^4 x2 |) D- m, `4 T5 J, ipricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing,
4 ^8 l% u& M. |1 k+ h# \% s8 Xtogether with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
) o5 y: c9 f) G. Z: fto ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
0 `) A6 A, x9 t. B- Z' G% Y, E1 b6 Yfunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.0 V& j, `# ?* _9 C: e' @$ X
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures
8 ^6 H, X6 N1 R: y. `3 P2 c! {as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
9 S% e5 H" y8 p2 Y- z# P1 keffective operation of the venues.
: e5 u- u/ D' T· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
! I3 t: X1 `, q: }dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
9 Z/ K ?( `1 r* q1 @. [· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
$ K& @! m& f* [2 z, R# F/ \9 sthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.+ z/ u# W) f0 K2 t/ G
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their
2 ~: L# F4 P% E; Y9 _particular event in the venues.
* }% h+ B: j; d! _6 L! \· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and 1 ^# O9 D: d5 V5 H7 V
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the 9 i3 R1 _- _. C. S5 O+ w
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
: k5 x4 d* h& t0 b7 m7 Q: T· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular 3 R4 t& X7 a8 D* U6 \% j
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.7 d& F2 d1 J( B, c9 ^! t
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
8 I# m* z" w: `, i7 ^# ~6 sSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately 4 H3 l% z I( }) C. I
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in 4 v" j% T( r6 E( E5 e% ]
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.2 n2 w- w4 N! S& y+ \3 o
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
, @0 T D3 E; j) A7 C* Seffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
7 @ n$ r$ v7 K& n1 u O) v6 ~the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision * M. b1 q# h! x1 g) |9 @6 }3 B& U
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of . @' c7 R6 Q# |! ~' e8 f
Programming and Venues.

+ T% u2 y o! P5 d& E' {/ {# Ksignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
/ Y) t5 l8 z' ?3 \, r0 S7 Dmarketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as
7 z+ L E9 n0 ]$ Kmay provide such challenges and/or problems.$ x; h$ _7 ~2 W$ H
· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth
