extensive, and are targeted at the all round smooth operation and

, d g I+ V7 G; e* Jthe logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional 6 g+ {# D' Q h5 R0 a0 X
venues within the realm of the Students´ Union. In the light of that

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that

This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:! D* l1 K1 B7 I: D
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
: T! H4 G1 n2 G! v- v1 D3 T6 |Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
+ Y7 A6 S. b- g9 @9 R% t2 ?* _# itake advantage of other internal and external advertising
% d2 S2 E* B4 I; M- Fopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional
# S" D ^. ? `% e3 f" n# W ~3 K' Eliterature on an ongoing basis.# P0 H3 H& |6 o' V
· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.: |* C) L: `8 t2 D. r" _2 i
· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the
; G, v z9 J% Kuse of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.( D, |' P# Z1 X# P7 S
· To develop new external clients for the venues.

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- ! n w. e+ R1 w: x
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
q$ M- @ `' n& ` |venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and
- S" q/ [- l( qcontribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of 4 O" e+ e) W& g) \
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited 5 M9 l; J& J1 Z
to, the following:
7 l. }7 I8 { |6 y- I" U· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues
; h+ V. [% t3 \+ pand Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, 0 w; Y# p" @) G; o1 ?( s' e7 \
evaluating and terminating, as necessary./ ^, o7 Q7 q) d5 m, r& t" _
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at 6 | Y" y- i! x8 c z. x+ m
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such " |# F4 }3 C( N/ |) C+ y7 I
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and 3 J( C* Y) P! G. S
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it ; Y& X9 e a' E2 v# |/ M
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
# l& T! ]* r7 W- a! x/ B# f· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
- f. m3 P1 ?6 R0 b: _$ othat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
" g8 F# G" z' Efacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
& I4 s: `( b3 Rrenters needs are met.
6 a" a" ]- G% {) i2 y· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills * K$ V% v4 d. y& t
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
4 A8 Q. y$ J6 ^) Q+ U# F6 x( I$ Gthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
/ q: o0 s6 C2 I2 \3 }1 v6 ~effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and 1 E+ H) e8 @, ]$ N* g
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual % o! ~& T; F2 P: M8 W& m, w& n* O
is kep up-to-date at all times.1 W7 d0 [) g( k5 J3 N, ~
· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff

and direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning

4. Overall Financial Performance

appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a
: G3 Y4 W2 b+ h$ m2 U" D; W, ypositive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This ( A6 Z/ ~6 B( m* {% d C# r8 J
includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:9 r/ W; Y r7 _
To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate
* R. U9 U; P' P# E# o/ xoperating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of 7 X4 g. Y- S. }! {* I8 j
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets $ h/ A* c# G! R( v, a+ W. }! ]+ D. G
Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance & ) e$ L( [. ~7 W) v0 K0 \& X0 \$ H
Administration prior to their submission for final approval./ O0 O8 @3 W5 s. _
· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively
4 t" X1 \/ `1 [reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects
7 H) |- \" M9 o6 E. t' w# ythe best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.$ F8 J2 `% d8 j8 h0 f
· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and 3 g2 S1 \/ c9 G, o
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the # ^$ g+ x& p6 k
compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such 8 X0 `8 B: U3 V2 W% B

· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together ' k0 k7 x- l& p2 G
with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for

the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and

5 h/ [9 m; ?5 {5 x% w9 wvenues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as , h2 ^' E8 S% T2 B

in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, $ _' V& V9 ?7 M, ?# p

together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
4 B( N; K" A K# L3 kto ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
" } v' b8 N$ `+ p6 Z( afunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
l' W& m/ y$ j% ?· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures , C* O5 Q9 j1 d
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
[6 I' ], d; h3 [$ eeffective operation of the venues.
2 ]; T) e0 o9 ?8 |6 u· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to , ]2 u/ G) I0 T* N9 r4 Z
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
! K" ]; g/ }1 N k· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
9 E3 W" i2 I% U' gthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.$ e) U( t/ Q' \, @1 Q
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their
' \, A& j9 g) Nparticular event in the venues.+ p* w0 S4 z+ ]1 d; A/ ]9 ~; u
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and ) m! X( y" t& f/ _
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the ) l* \, m7 z7 J; }+ ?+ @
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.: B. u/ R( S# ~" }2 P! o h" o8 l2 c
· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular
% z# u8 K8 c9 u8 X0 ?3 zrental with consultation with the Technical Director.
- O2 `& x7 V$ {4 h· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the 9 D( o# y! P, d3 G P9 a+ r; T. w& \
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately % x! v7 q- q* S
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in / l. i/ G- p+ a8 _5 i
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
$ Z" W+ H5 e4 x9 [ To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, ; c w) _% ~+ _
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that : N0 Y0 k, F: `" X
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision ; v- H( A- W0 ?0 {' p
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
0 Z( K8 Y- h& c$ r6 \$ LProgramming and Venues.2 Z+ O. S1 C% [
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of / a a2 T B% Y4 f7 ]4 }
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
5 e% v+ t# i3 }; K" a3 Bmarketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as ( k1 |* Y0 ]% c* {# u$ W
may provide such challenges and/or problems.0 W! `$ h p1 g% D1 \
· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth ' i, u% R' C+ l* Y) t) T5 L, t( v8 Q

1) Minimum two years related post secondary education, or
