• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.

• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
7 R5 ]- @) T2 K# Y• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather " y+ J% [$ P. C% ^& q P2 v
and traffic conditions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
% h8 U1 g8 L, D7 Y# s. o( U* o• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset./ J- \0 e: n: t% v4 _
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability
: ?# \7 f- S% o* m9 I6 n; G) `9 Hto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).( d/ E3 u* R v" F6 p4 Z6 J* {
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.# s: ~! T% [3 d+ N
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.- d$ e- P; O" e' A6 U1 L$ N
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
& O' h; b; C& k8 P8 K+ G dshowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. & ?0 N9 i( A: g) P1 b1 P5 U
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill 9 K. F1 U D; c& b
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training). J9 i6 G8 e* T9 Y [1 l
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
