sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
9 _$ @8 L8 p  S; ?' jand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
; T. A. V7 b$ `/ E/ J( e' Anon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
) @% Y; K  r! R, xworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
" H! a+ I% l  }- R% ]# I$ _5 \* r* npolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
. w7 }2 u* y0 x) U' a" P$ B; @affairs at all times.

/ B( F% w9 z9 ?1 hPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
$ o$ Y& Y9 W! f8 K4 wvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
5 T* D, P) C$ [4 V  ~) Jmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
* z* @" I/ T  A8 \1 ?to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
8 H/ K6 z: O$ [# ^3 was per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
# Y6 H  m; m7 p1 A2 R. Q# a, dservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

- |7 o! ?& e: E9 J& d+ i; @; VIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
( M& T; m# ?$ V4 uthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
% }* W# L, E: M7 l/ K3 nthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

# T* p' Y* S3 W2 y* C1 sKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
2 w8 b! _! e3 q) j* `! B; vincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
- Z8 s9 ~- z1 D' f. _. `( upartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
  a7 U$ _/ O, b8 w6 Imanaging projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
