The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
4 m5 j/ m# q( v" Y) }organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

8 m8 H# P6 X. _2 p- ~Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
! U, b( r, b/ _2 w7 Rnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

# l8 w0 m. W; {Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
8 K. W8 }# M0 m6 C. P% p5 a, Rfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

! f4 i; X5 w  v7 b( |9 BPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
1 O$ u: O3 ?6 f& K/ f* {+ c+ Yas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
: m; G0 C$ Z" Q" ythe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

2 C5 v8 `# |0 M& S# z+ y) C8 ^In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
& D: F! l" n/ e# U- Rdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
+ b* p, B, w( ^9 Z6 l- S% [the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
, Z% ^, y8 M- f  F" G& I- l% Uthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
, f4 V* c/ {2 q6 J& ]including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
4 \4 a3 ]% `- m2 M4 a$ l% [1 Gwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
