Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management4 b% C/ ], l1 \; ^7 j/ y
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
: I, \- v/ ~% W' f7 n! u( [non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
+ e% c0 ]# ^7 u- C0 Mworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
3 h' S9 ^) |: F" Y* O) D" R Npolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's) T2 I3 I# k( [& Z# T
affairs at all times.

4 Q5 [5 Y" J) b" k( k8 C4 jPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
1 d2 q9 `! m9 B& z0 x: \vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
& s. A7 v/ x$ ?' F4 W, ^5 K* _arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
& F" ~* ~3 }- T/ S/ S1 tmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports4 y0 q7 ~+ o+ R, J M. q
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
3 j8 Z/ j. m3 E0 B" B7 h! Y; y6 sto implement the organizational policies.

' v# p4 E1 e) ]! \& IPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
/ E4 t+ }; z; Ras per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and& g4 U6 ~0 [( |) C
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have9 r y" D+ W: d4 X5 i2 G, `8 S
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission. # l8 d5 \. y: `7 A. {

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
9 m! c# J6 X) O9 Y7 w5 r6 r. |development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer5 l2 o9 C- m( j: r1 }: v6 G
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
' u1 s5 `; g) P" h1 d+ dthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts* h6 n$ p9 Z. S$ X6 S) h9 m! e
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups. ]6 M' F m' h
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government( _& N! m/ k9 K1 [ X
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of/ H& W6 n; N$ s" d% {
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
) Z& B. N; |8 G/ n: P+ P; d6 |work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and7 i+ h% _6 d! f* a- X% N: _) V. i& m
managing projects and budgets.) w1 y4 n) n# A" l% R
0 t) q7 o4 I4 J; Z& `* Q" J8 J" \PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
