The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
* _) t9 Y+ P5 O9 Csociety led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
% A2 }- O2 N1 v. T& `organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
$ j! ?& u2 W, s& ^policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

; E/ e, X( z# bPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
8 Y1 E6 n  h+ j; ]. n  Tfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.
+ b7 ~0 m; e# ^8 f! J  S, P
% ~3 [; T( U9 h) w  L' \/ DPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
9 S, S. y' X; ?1 n* x/ V. v8 Z& H: Q- Vthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

! e) k, O& d& N# @In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
4 R; y& M5 D5 d0 J7 }the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
, ?) T# V. ]! B% ?+ W7 H7 sthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
