ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action. / E: S% P1 D# X/ j

The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans., a$ i( u) v8 ] }
" z: l& T) X7 b# l( rEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.; m7 [* I1 f( a* l2 B( y; I$ ?+ `
2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
+ J, m$ p/ D/ Q* h3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
+ R% f% V6 G( k8 M. m4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
