22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
' Q. V7 e' t: T+ j0 Xbeverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

# Q$ C1 @0 M8 c9 e7 ?# g3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
. L& s. Q4 x4 e% y4 L' peach shift, and upon closing.

/ b! m  z& d3 x  ?3 p7 h4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
$ E  |  O5 k' S) Aseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
# O! Y  Z5 I2 t. @8 Y' {- _4 F
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
; r0 n3 K7 F& h* }products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

* X" j. |5 w( ~) S% q5 X7 X9 l6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
# t" q1 y7 j  @monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
: k+ l% ^! `& ~6 f+ s1 i To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
& |1 h; E8 L' }) M, l6 ~5 poperation.

& F6 v# C" Q+ \. \6 L; u& y3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
$ I5 R2 P6 U+ C- Taccordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
+ Z$ Z* S* P8 X2 G; _Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
2 W+ Q% K- K+ l* `' `7 [* ^attitude.

2 N; R3 c- E7 O$ NWage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
