JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  5 D( T0 N* P7 u3 k7 T
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
% ]2 H) f8 a2 u  [) uprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  6 i& j2 M! W' J$ k6 ^3 h# B
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
# l2 d! x, O# g# j  f- C" f: p1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
1 w0 w( J2 r- N% Z4 O& xbeverage items.& f$ f( ~- P1 }9 J/ a
. D0 r  s' G2 s/ t6 d
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  3 F' W7 @0 v' V
bar and debit floats.
" X  @1 V! b( A! R* e6 i# e# I- K. ^: c) k1 ^5 t, w
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
: n0 r/ C* w! Yeach shift, and upon closing.

4 V; G7 s  x* b4 x1 @+ w6 c4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
# Q9 `8 {! h' X! v5 Qattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  2 \3 l; g8 I* ^  z1 r3 c
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.5 x, b; h# ]- `3 s! q+ A2 m6 s: ]

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
  V* H6 E# k0 w, p* e! ~. istorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol    U: j2 E1 {$ A1 y) h
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
& l4 B- ^1 V( x+ Q* Y/ x0 B0 L: d0 B' Z6 Z3 }$ M4 E/ {
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
  T4 Y: V; w1 q& r, Z5 L) ?monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
/ \  w* [0 {* c  k: D8 m( i9 qhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  * F1 e  R6 E9 g! `$ k, c
accordance with Students' Union policies.
) r3 v4 q' D6 _7 t9 _# M* P8 ~  ~! |) n7 z
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  9 R" {$ c/ O' H7 R0 Z
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.1 v/ W: O  ^, \- S, q" p
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
4 k$ d5 |: E7 Z: g( _0 VAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
0 c* p) n6 Y3 q( H1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
  S$ h$ d3 G6 S2 n0 w- ?
4 z3 g5 o- {+ u4 W8 E$ o4 x2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
( J. m6 X, o! \& C* loperation.
4 M- O5 T$ Q& }' W
( [6 I  d" M' I, l3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
" o0 U! S0 w1 f. p) X' w5 X% Caccordance with Students' Union policy.$ B/ b/ e4 Z. D3 K& A

7 k! P/ [' U! D' z! h4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
. Z. S: y! e, |6 w- f/ [, A" uUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  2 D; [; `2 {" V9 j! A
