JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
4 P3 q$ U0 J/ \1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

, j5 @; A- L9 w9 f2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
6 i5 ?1 |& a+ N2 }. B9 C* ]high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
+ |/ L4 Z: z% _9 t) L9 n8 O; z( Btotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4 M' {# B4 h  N6 ~4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
$ g0 C  |+ v3 c6 n. O4 x7 N* P* Hincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
; @6 H1 ]0 x% Q0 q; i6 a# y) Jand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.
+ s+ k2 S' v2 ~0 F& z6 Z
5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
: V, F) G+ d1 x. c' \; L/ k( d6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

8 q$ x% S/ c  C+ Q0 g7 U7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
' t" n, E: C7 I: wManager.

" f7 V' j: V0 g% P: aQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
) a) j1 P9 q0 D' c
! W* R3 h) ^% E3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.
* j( W# Y8 u8 S% G: ^9 {" B
2 s( U9 _) W" Y  ?4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
" o# R4 \$ p+ T1 B$ yprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
