SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
; [$ M9 Q( `, L( ]carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

1 T2 U8 G3 J5 f) KDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

( s5 P- ^" s6 t3 |% T( }* y0 i2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
/ q" s/ ~9 ]" s8 d( W8 ~/ Yhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.
! ?8 ?$ {+ @( M% d4 t
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
9 d: ^: N) [2 cand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

6 e/ S; h0 ~  |7 @! |+ j( U0 d1 e) c5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
5 h% c. u* B: W2 h9 Vaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6 [: h3 w9 ^- R- y7 H0 D6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
( u% I8 Y) L2 ^3 D/ v% o- LAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

! I5 P; z. _# f$ Y7 F( Y6 C7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

2 p8 K$ F1 P( R- j/ v: ?- y# C4 |QUALIFICATIONS;
% v+ Z1 a1 Z) s1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
. H4 X6 ?8 u6 W5 h/ l
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
1 P$ d9 J1 ]2 M* K) W, X
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

% [' H/ K) ]' i* m* ~4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.
' y+ I' z; r/ i: Y5 b, `( c
5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
