SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

' e3 R3 E  E0 W" u, wJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
  ^7 K- ?8 o7 A: h. ccarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.
& ]5 `+ |7 G" H/ ?3 b, l6 g3 N" p/ `6 M

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
3 J, \0 x1 D4 ^5 _0 J* f9 \accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
0 y! S5 I) P1 Z7 g. @: Tand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

6 h* G9 Q' z4 T+ Q5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
# @5 E: K* y0 C/ Mintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
+ w- |- j6 j7 h1 n& Q/ o- MAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations

) o$ @* q7 ~' L5 EQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

* c6 P7 G$ X# s1 L5 C% r3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
! P4 X) c9 a: @) a# ucard transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
1 K9 e! R6 U( p! `& C: q& H- pprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

: t, t' h5 g5 h- d$ mWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
