1 Z* {  Z: Q6 b3 p* m& |! YJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
& z( l3 ^& n3 ^2 d' h/ }& JBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
5 N% w) J8 x5 vcustomer service and room cleanliness.


  A* p( Y; [! D2 \DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
+ e9 n& d1 D+ |" L1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
* G8 N  b" r$ {! S- S( v( R: torders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
2 t$ j2 c2 y1 i+ \; _3 L4 i( _high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

$ H2 L" B/ Q& V' [# l5 j8 p7 h3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
: P& j/ B% u, u  {8 O/ mtotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

# p. d& S2 d6 Z: j3 h9 D4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
: n, y4 ]1 @+ q0 V: F# O- jincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
3 z) J7 Q  V0 G2 r1 A/ Aand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

  v' y" U+ g5 x" L5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
, J0 A/ s; k# j! J: L2 i- Iaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
, n/ T9 C: l; LAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.


- I) U7 S) i% U: r; `+ s3 ?QUALIFICATIONS;
6 I7 F, y5 _8 e5 y% L- o1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
5 d5 J* x" W9 F' `
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
1 Y' a1 J3 G# h9 D+ ^6 Koperation.
  F* t8 N* X+ M6 o; h* l7 n
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
' l7 l& d! h9 `; Xpolicy.
' B- i% A$ g: v( \1 `0 u# L8 s$ n
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

! M: J2 b: R- E6 n5 u5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

4 E5 S0 l/ M4 FWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
