The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

' z# b4 }; h0 y* b" yDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
7 O+ s* f& U% Z3 Rtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
6 ~9 i1 f) w; K6 }, icompounds by chromatography.

! ^" t( M7 ?: XQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
* n* s9 W7 h' l- f" ^$ _: UChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
2 c. e3 M% i$ `2 c- _of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
& L8 K% R0 K9 ]* g9 j8 phope to work in these areas.
