The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
0 X% [/ h6 d* N8 t! P3 Ftechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
" q3 i9 b( i; }& ninclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

. R% R8 @+ N3 _* eQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
8 V" x: Q8 D9 e/ t3 z8 k7 X1 @- x/ [separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
: C- h1 S3 W* e9 B9 Y3 fThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
