The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

% ]/ ]) e3 J" O' f5 ]6 i" @! oSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

; g# r4 V3 C% f" MDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
7 }8 B3 ~3 o( Y* r' z# Einclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
. H! D- {* Z5 N- T5 EChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
2 ^1 @. W$ h: d, a1 @7 [separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
+ j0 t$ O* d. T  T3 K) @" q% r/ v3 cof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
