Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Job description
& ~$ V3 U; c9 p, o! lStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
7 _1 g: o0 Z- g8 Z' F6 sweekend hours.
- V. I' t8 t" f8 }) ^You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer, J% {) @( L9 a8 ~! x4 T; r1 X
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the; G( K) q' U/ S7 f3 C' U
centre.
- A( A6 e- c* @+ n+ w' e( JThese responsibilities include:
5 P/ m9 ?# v9 \-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.* ^5 t3 m F6 Q! f4 T
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.5 `7 y6 B4 i6 P: i+ m$ ?
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
$ p9 Y* ~7 [% Q+ I& u( n5 q A8 }8 srenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
* ?% r* {5 u3 |- b, z; f4 Zfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
% E3 q5 y- ~! L4 o5 E-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic " L( @: k- E$ b7 Y [; I% }: `
clients’ files etc. 9 X) w1 ^1 O4 k. W

Education:
+ J3 H) h" G% G1 Y- J-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 6 p. t( u. Z. Y& `! e
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination ; Y6 Q9 h! `' r
of education, training and /or experience. O0 L1 ? D3 G7 c( G5 K
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
$ C/ [* L% R, t# q% N0 a-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.+ c2 b# z' F& g. L* S7 X9 d2 R/ ]
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
$ C' T0 O7 C; w' M( v9 Dand Excel. * A2 `& A8 U/ E4 U4 ^; h
-Experience using and updating an information database. 6 f( q+ y5 x, V. n
6 e# i% X3 B. w8 o$ I9 MAssets:
E5 \3 i3 j' R. c3 N) F7 q' M* T-Experience in using MS Access.
- q: w J: Z% G-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.% Y6 A% j( Q1 s+ z; s( b
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
