Sun Life to retire Clarica name

TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
! {7 M3 g& A" ?8 gClarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
) L Y8 f B. CThere are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

The company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.7 ~: S2 H9 X- ~" W: ]' E
