: l7 M3 y# j9 u$ k　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,

6 s% o: I& K2 p: ~　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

) A% N2 E0 [+ A7 _　　Both sides of the Great Wall

& A0 F# ~/ f3 i2 B% g5 U. L　　One single white immensity.

4 ^  |9 q7 H6 a; X　　The Yellow River"s swift current

　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

　　Vying with heaven in stature.

　　On a fine day, the land,

　　Grows more enchanting.

　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

2 b$ `+ B" V& v4 r　　Were lacking in literary grace,

　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

　　Had little poetry in their souls;
8 ?# m! ?6 \& H　　And Genghis Khan,

　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　Look to this age alone.
