( S$ G3 @* Z5 T' q& S _+ ?According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.4 K4 H* |& X0 J1 {: {

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.0 Q3 v: V6 X8 W5 a' O* u
% m B+ b& c6 @& n' HThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

5 C7 m; N* D) z3 q- LSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )
