Looking for English conversation Partners

Practice makes perfect. I do not believe in the assertion that we will never be able to speak perfect English. As a matter of fact, I often meet people who speak perfect English while their mother tongue is not English and they did not learn English when being young. It would be great to practice English with a native speaker, but it is the same effective to talk with our fellow countrymen in English.

If you can freely express yourself in English and need a partner to practice, please contact me. We can meet or call.

Thanks for your interest. First of all, I do not think age or sex is a big issue, because we are not looking for boy or girl friends. What we want is to practice English only. Secondly, I would like to tell you briefly about myself. I was a teacher in China and now I am going to finish my PhD at U of A.

There is a program named LACE held in libraries. I wonder if you have ever tried that program. It won't be on again until the summer vacation finish. If you like , I could contact several classmates of this program to start our own conversation circle. P.S " Thanks to " the forum limit to new members, I could only post once each day here.

Perfect! LACE is also in the Whitemud Crossing Library. I live close to Southgate as well. Whoever is interested in the convasation circle, just post here with your email address.

Good idea.

As for the restrictions to new members, I guess the administrators of the website wants to control the rampant illegal ads. If you come here and post regularly, you will be an 'old' member very soon.

I am interested in the practice of English pronunciation. Although native speakers speak in "Standard" English, they seldom to correct your pronunciation. This is their culture.
