* ^- D8 q9 e2 Z+ }( _9 UResponsibilities and Tasks
( ]0 |7 i; }/ A0 o; `+ g. T- e _9 c' _7 `
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
6 {3 |+ K- j8 H8 y' m r5 _9 }- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements: r5 y' O. q; m: i0 Y
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines( ?! z h* |4 y, [) ]
- Select type and size of pipe required
4 S9 ]% w( A1 }9 ]- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
[( x: C+ g9 f8 j3 f- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
$ g1 T% I$ K" o- [# n- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems5 C7 ` l) ?; o4 [9 ~
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
& W; b3 D! }4 S4 f5 \- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system2 k* N' H) H. G; Q2 z
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system2 `+ Z3 `6 k" O) n9 @) D$ ]- l$ p
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program2 i) l$ n x4 D! B3 u5 @/ a# ]
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
/ n: n+ M1 T3 t* U3 c) u8 _8 T$ t' y9 k& I% Y. G+ O0 o% g
- Completion of secondary school( x6 q3 A. g; y9 V4 V8 F4 p. K/ K2 u
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation ; o! f. N Z; Z$ j* {
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals% r i& T$ D5 x: `0 y/ ^% y
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence& W' {/ h T, L) J9 ^' s
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
