NAIT的Electrical Engineering Technology这个专业出来一般都干嘛

朋友很想去读这个，想了解下有没有这个专业出来的前辈介绍下，就业情况怎样，一般都是干些什么样的工作。谢谢大家

虽然没有读过，但是很确定这个专业毕业的不是electrician，职业定位应该是，designer,technician和technologist.

我也觉得electrician得专门的实习专业才会去做。
那这个专业出来通过了政府的认证，然后做了electrical tech/technologist，一般都是在什么样的地方工作？在city里面朝九晚五的工作机会多吗？不太希望是那种要到郊区户外或经常黑白颠倒的工作

' `9 Z0 C" z% a1 B* l: T: [办公室工作的机会也非常大。designer, customer order engineer(manufacture), technologist等等，你去查一下Monster或workopolis之类的就知道了。

NAIT ELT (Electrical Engineering Technology)

: _& k4 d$ \1 F6 W  G/ k2 MElectrical Engineering Technologist:

1) Field Service Technologist/Technician
& }! ^, w$ _+ n- k- {2 d    Perform tests on transformers, switchgears, and onther electrical equipment. Around 95%      
    working on site, field or substations. Starting wage about $23/hr.

2) PLC programmer
' p( s6 A# n2 ?    Perform PLC system maintenance and programming. Around 50% working on site or field. Starting
+ C, V5 D7 K5 B- {: ?0 l    wage about $24/hr.

! i  a9 T+ }4 D& s4 m3) VFD technician
    Perform VFD test and maintenance. 70% working on site or field. Starting wage about $25/hr.

4) Electrical Technician/Repairer
; w3 Z0 v% O% F6 ~( K" I    Perform electrical equipment maintenance and repair. 50% working on site or field, 50% working  
3 F9 Y. v" w2 U' L- ^    in shop. Starting wage about $24/hr.

9 J( @' Z7 }2 S6 U5) Electrical Designer
" h* V( _: I/ l# u* I& e8 O! y    Perform electrical system design such as cabinet design or power system design. 95% working in  
    office and 5% on site. Starting salary about $44,000, its starting salary is lower than that of field  
/ D$ _( m6 o+ R    service technologist or others, but after 3 ~ 4 years later the salary could be higher than  
3 _% ]9 u$ t2 ^; x, U# \4 L( y    $70,000/yr (equal to $35/hr).

6) Electrician
6 A( O" l* ~: U5 L    Perform electrical equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. You have to spent another 4 years as an apprentice even you have an ELT diploma. You have to find an employer to hire you as an apprentice. Normally for a Canadian whose friends, or brothers/sisters, or father/uncle/mother is an electrician he/she will spent another 4 years working with his/her father (uncle/brother or ...) and eventually he/she will acquire an electrician trade certiificate. This is an easy way for them to be an electrician, but that's harder for an immigrant. The starting wage is good, I think at least $25/hr. An electrician will spent most time in shop, on site or in the field. That's all as my understanding.
