And from the perspective of a sender, we often do not spend time understanding who the receiver is and what their inbox might look like. Observing the Sender

Spends a long time crafting the ‘perfect’ (-ly long) email.
; Z+ x' F+ _/ m! _8 t, \Believes that their request is original, unique, and special.
% r8 t8 o+ Q1 @7 X6 U$ o+ [$ \Believes that they are the first to ask for such favors.
! o# I$ R8 z) w. C5 S# \, ?2 s- b; FCannot imagine why anyone would turn them away.
6 E$ f0 Y8 x4 M: Q5 u6 v$ NDesires to tell the whole story, explained from every angle, so that the listener can understand their point of view.

. W3 y8 O; R6 S* rWith such divergent perspectives, it’s no wonder receivers receive the kinds of email that they do, and that senders are wondering why their emails isn’t effective or eagerly responded to.
