To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. # J: I9 V0 l9 Q, [( m2 c

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)8 F, |( `3 Y d7 C5 W: c9 s

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
: P5 P8 w9 Q% E3 E2 m* G9 Q• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;! ]5 s0 x7 J: p
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;+ i6 Z; i: F ?0 c3 r" ?
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

• Risk Management and succession planning;8 U3 K- T* O# g" z
) E% _/ r+ C0 v, ~: qProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: * x( ^: ]0 L. V3 N5 }
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;* U( M& S& w: k5 E; c$ O; P
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
* _3 J/ I3 b! w5 T7 J# c• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
/ J% l: z1 }: D6 |• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities$ P# B, a( _0 l2 D2 ]
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
9 }$ r5 h4 Z6 F/ x• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;6 X/ ]0 q8 M0 J) G; j, B! r
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
/ G# \* e0 ^8 l! e• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
2 P, o7 _2 X7 ?8 P2 T3 a3 j• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
% v, j( O8 q1 x& O% m: H) ^8 h j• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;& K+ y4 ~8 m0 h, C5 p
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
; M! x2 x8 t/ T5 j. I$ g% ?• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
4 Q( c D) X* {4 k- \3 q5 g x• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred; d" B6 ?5 a# q5 S1 _6 ]2 H
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
- R/ W6 J, ]3 P• Current valid drivers license;
. T# a5 G; T+ l* c4 L, x& N• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;. u2 Q Y$ B: M, |' R- O4 W
• Conflict resolution skills;
