1 a8 l; O" l, T+ y" }' P& E: _$ RTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 2 [0 H% A) m: L' A
* l2 D; i; K0 h3 o" DThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)4 k: ^. p' R+ R. |7 `) q+ U
8 U% e: W) M$ pAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
) w' Y: u3 O- ^# O4 m M% c% y) I• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;5 j A h5 b+ p+ d
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;7 O) t/ N& X0 Y2 N2 a3 y; s
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;- M- C) J( }( Y
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
/ m2 Q% m# `* V4 N/ K• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;* j' X1 Z$ m# n) a. L- K
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
- W) c+ E, M! b3 X• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;% h0 Z" @6 C, r7 _/ N2 k9 T
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities! L9 T) e& C! n) { m: f
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
; s7 `7 e1 @1 G1 N2 Y8 h/ z• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;8 @* T1 j2 {( |1 l
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
1 ]( r& L: R+ G# ]) i• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;- F6 Y7 X+ |& Q5 K: p* j1 ]

) ^9 ~ j8 u% { u• Degree in communications, human services or related field;' t& g) G: Y) }
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
a) }% L% O7 V" S" q: M• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; - o; y& P% Y& X
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
0 u# y. Z* t% A' d1 X. O& Q4 G• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
$ A- n8 P5 l7 G! W& J% |• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;9 m$ E* a" r0 l' I! S
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
- J! {! V- E) _• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;! h2 ?- ?+ m! ]9 q- _+ q& H
• Current valid drivers license;9 a9 T) m7 t" \# ]/ m% ^* h7 b
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;: ^ P: n, M6 ~. _
• Conflict resolution skills;
