Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project. U& W# @* Z7 B F( R' G# c

& A! [" N% W0 V; s4 P4 rTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 0 [7 t3 E+ a& D% J* Y% s/ j

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)5 `, }- o7 A1 M4 Y
5 P. s W; B$ M; YAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
; q/ s3 b& j8 C• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& w) d% s3 ?6 b# m• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;2 h' P! e0 X r+ v$ h- L. h, }8 o
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
8 A2 H" K" v6 [" N3 F& |4 `• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
* Q' W1 s; q! a% R$ Z( k• Risk Management and succession planning;

0 q0 V0 \4 Y' p: iProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: + Y) U" W$ p$ J: g
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
5 g7 j) X7 A) f2 H$ n- o• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
% }" f* D6 d4 j1 {: S' g• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
4 S8 q+ a; [5 \5 b4 r• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
, R3 X7 l+ \7 t• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* J1 l/ P) [6 m5 Z
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;/ g$ M* | g# F, J
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
, Y, P | h* T; d• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

/ M* J8 w! e' EQualifications:
2 f+ K( `7 B& o3 x5 Z• Degree in communications, human services or related field;% G3 T7 I) B1 q5 Y' \( o
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;- D' l$ I# n+ _+ w G2 Y$ f+ r
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
% e4 o1 Y" ~" o% \• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;; I) y% V$ } i" q' O3 w
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.3 k. ]) j4 s& m% E/ V9 K6 P6 N
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;9 V- o0 O2 L2 A, ?' ~# V5 M
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
7 ?+ w3 G6 N+ h& m• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;, z" O& G! W, R/ G1 x2 H
• Current valid drivers license;# ?5 t& c! S# D5 s
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;7 ]" K* _: J1 S+ ?. _
• Conflict resolution skills;
