Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
- ?( z H3 ^7 X- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
0 S/ _0 W' Q4 U1 {7 M( }/ l3 L- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
3 o, N& c: S0 b# i2 z7 X- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
; A/ ?: @8 v v& n# h1 f$ A- provide volunteers for various programs % c4 U" @1 Y/ S4 x
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual+ {8 N; `/ x3 N0 r' p+ f
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
- z% `/ X& V1 W$ m- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
( S j( i s m& @- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services& B% T5 f! ]2 o& Z/ ?
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. z2 ]/ M+ j8 {/ K
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
! V( m: e9 H/ p" N- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed/ \9 }6 b% z9 l2 l: F
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
, Z7 I+ [9 V! s- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 2 \. f- C4 e+ f
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
0 y4 A& j& }8 v9 K8 T- z; L$ d- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
: @& K- R' y$ I) y' U4 _+ Q8 ]- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education* I. |. o: ?$ l* f" E
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" ], ~5 ?6 \6 F) ?- l; j0 c
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services, x% l1 x3 p; Y$ e7 ^" @( c
- leadership skills- K+ `- f" f* P" `+ a; Y
- management and supervision skills
