Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
; z6 v% ~: [0 j4 \& {5 J- provide volunteers to update membership database. t* k# q- a8 G7 I( q" U9 W k
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
$ b; w2 H# z* @8 q- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties! A; Z7 _% U) d. v
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties# `1 O" N2 k0 I$ i6 n$ q
- provide volunteers for various programs 0 T, t: n; J; N$ v) Q
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* a' Z4 |" M) f# s9 G% S- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation3 i7 S2 M" t; _" x0 @
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- c; j/ `/ J# n2 ]% J- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services9 ^0 p; }$ ?3 o% ?
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports* r* s G$ r: f
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed' K* F [: p4 N
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed( Y9 L# K/ V$ S3 X2 S7 a; E. s
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
* w, x8 J1 N3 r b) _" ^- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % p. {0 Y+ ]* z2 s7 F7 R$ G
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual , F4 {, }- Q% S- D. @1 ?* E! m2 }
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
8 k9 `) e! n. x8 B- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
- O3 J; Q! E. o6 l0 V- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

; H8 B6 G. H" Z9 l- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education. \, C$ |. ^% T; u% y2 X6 u
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
5 w4 K! G& C/ v7 s- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services& V6 _( [& m2 j L& q e" l
- leadership skills |3 e2 V& s( x* {& a
- management and supervision skills; O: Q9 @. t c% K/ Y
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
