Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 1 r: f4 M- Z7 C- H# q, k6 Q. p
+ h f/ J. F4 a" y7 V# @4 o' CKey Responsibilities:
% C# S$ ~ D& F9 H& I/ J D• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
. V7 |/ k% @2 H• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
. z" x0 F) ` R• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately- ]$ G4 r: V; P
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter2 K% v8 X6 u! P2 a; l1 N
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents% v0 `" t7 e& P! F+ t o
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
4 ?7 X1 ]3 ~' @4 h' [7 V9 X• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events( c, ~% I0 s! X
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
( \1 H1 P! Y: G5 f• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
; R$ ^3 i8 y0 E% y" F3 {/ U• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters. y( e8 H% h1 P1 o
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
0 c0 |8 Q, A+ q• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
4 k* x7 p; m2 a5 o; \6 T# s• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset6 f7 s" O5 Y$ p1 r, w
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
# }4 V9 m' O4 [# g) k• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients3 n6 I) W& C! I$ \0 C) {
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( y7 x5 S* O$ D2 W7 R

• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:
( v$ K, Z; B3 n8 A: z9 G* x' R: {6 s• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience # C: m9 q8 U0 ^( h+ M. J
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
& {/ B4 C \( C- L: K/ `• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism) i# g9 p" W) x/ J
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
