对方用 Telus 附带的 Juniper SSG 140 防火墙, 建议我用同样的。

If you want the exact same model, the SSG 140, it's $2700 to $3200 depends on if you need 256 MB or 512 MB version. ETA 2 weeks.

& M$ }2 Y* H, |  c* |But if you only have a small network and don't want to spend that kinda money, any IPSec VPN firewall can do it. I would still recommend the Juniper product, you can get a SSG 5 for $700.

I have set up some in linux. But I have not tried a build-in VPN in a firewall product. If you set up everything yourself, you can solve any issue if something troubles happen. If you buy a product and it is not compatible to that at the other end, you can do nothing.

I have DD-WRT router (using Linux) which I believe would work with VPN but not dare to try it. Would you be able to help me?
2 l4 v4 O! y  e& vI need someone to deal with Telus. They are such bully to people whom are not very competant and like to push responsibility to customer when things not working, and it will cost me money the longer they work on.

The set up is for VPN connection to a server in Toronto to download EDI information on a daily basis.

# W7 W' V, E' N7 L, _5 y  EI don't think it is caused by Telus if your VPN is not working, because almost any ISP allows a variety of VPNs. You firstly should have all necessary information from your Toronto side. If your VPN client setup is not working, you should contact your Toronto server.

Y% I5 h% h, |If your side is not a network to use VPN, but a single machine, you don't need to set your router except allowing firewall ports for VPN (different types of VPNs use different TCP/IP ports. Your router has to allow these ports's traffic.).  My suggestion for this situation is 1) make sure your router allows traffic on related VPN ports; 2) follow your server's instruction to setup your VPN client; 3) contact server side if not working.
