• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed- P* o* q, `6 n
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components# u7 m4 G, \$ d
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers5 Z2 [$ I! }) h
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams; z" S- n1 ?8 u* N$ [0 K6 @
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
9 i' V- L* L* b1 m5 [• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment$ U8 V- a: g e1 g
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
9 R9 F5 D$ B% H1 E, b8 q• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
) K' W0 k f/ g# E7 g; N• Mix paint, blend and match colors# m6 I: B, m, h# L7 i. a
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns

• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:; }5 u+ B0 w, X, A+ M3 G z( W; x% B
• Completion of secondary school is required
0 C! H/ W( k$ a4 x$ t: E* y B• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
1 X" D: }* y# ^. |4 |: J: v/ }• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
