. u) u& _0 H) k* u: D• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
* Z# K( ?1 z0 S: R) m* f- R# O4 [5 p• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
: x5 v5 }( g7 |• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers# U+ d. U- P7 Q$ Q8 A0 J# g1 i
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams+ _1 s1 @5 a1 y, u6 ~; y
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- d# X3 J# _. S, s* ?6 r" S7 `• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, S: ~( E/ `0 p1 |- V
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
; L' W/ V$ g2 n a5 X# x( U• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting

• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns$ a. E- I: h9 u5 `" |: B
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs+ G8 K; K: ` ^0 m: y. `- c
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation& b) _8 r, x3 t
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling S+ w( V$ B# B0 B/ K
Education and Experience Requirements:$ I2 X8 ~4 C- `: G; J2 m) ]
• Completion of secondary school is required
' [, w" Z) B0 D9 D6 \• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

. K+ ^3 H- [' X9 o% G# ~" HA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 3 s' |+ {8 o2 M6 O3 s& T, R
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
