Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. • Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
) W* K& g# A8 f$ h% d. p" A% W• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
" _' C% L2 u/ B" m• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately1 k9 J) d- G9 \
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter7 n0 w- }, n" G6 L, \
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
+ Y3 a: Z0 p4 X2 G' F9 ]• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents7 ]# s: d# H3 G& R6 Y
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker" s1 {& l+ z) U' d/ X1 E
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events% O: s3 H5 I! o2 d# g
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
H9 Z$ k, U9 s% Z• Keep the reception area tidy and clean* Z' Q) _ r; ~4 |+ H! Z
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters( [' |, R( p4 I% G/ N7 \8 k
• Maintain front counter service files4 `* z* O0 X! @9 U
• Perform general office duties as assigned) |/ v5 |5 K8 j3 k7 a" P
• Report to ISP Program Manager& d! h- h" v0 R% X. C: a8 k% l
& w# Z# O3 C/ }' m- I: G" L* @0 nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:/ O5 q% i# S- N& {8 n1 z
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
; g; h, Y" H8 y$ Z, y• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
" ]; g9 m' B7 E• Good English writing and oral communication skills: d4 Q) ~8 H& M* r2 A$ k
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
" ^, a S( |+ F. N+ u6 X• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook- V8 h! U, [5 t1 X, G. w
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience - N0 O/ W1 M( E3 ]+ O
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment; o+ }- S" W: _
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism" r) v( I* b" P" X# N
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
