YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.
! F5 u1 I# y2 O; ^Job Responsibilities:

5 @& m _3 b: H( J* sPayroll:3 o0 O" [1 e/ z( j# r3 c% O$ }
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
% u; S& ^& l$ ^2 L3 i/ F' ` b" t• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll% ~& Y5 \8 }3 L! g7 t5 J3 i
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records : b0 ~( \5 H U7 V
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
0 d ]$ C6 I$ }• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
% }& }6 h. Q( i- C: R: k0 \0 j• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s* E: H, |( t1 W3 _& N# D1 A; M
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
3 L; S5 Q+ j0 C; y- D• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

1 S& \# K0 n3 V+ vCompliance:
) O( S. Z; i0 N• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
: U& C7 K8 q' ~. d T% @7 `• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
3 A- ^4 C! k% E• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
" [! q# Q! R9 E) \6 z; d/ ?• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

% v1 g2 A6 f/ [' m( _ r Z. N `• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
; k& l) {& U. A2 Q- k• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department8 N, q+ H4 Y2 c$ R3 O' V9 I
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
: {1 c8 v7 @$ P$ @! e• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing2 _7 _& c4 w4 y- Z
, a$ p0 J0 a& Y, B" p/ V- ]Qualifications:: g& E$ D- f4 }/ A
- J& f7 a# E. X. b! ^• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP3 q. R) I& z( o
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
, _5 A$ Z- e! T$ d/ v• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
! M4 M0 I: h0 L• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
% h- V$ M" _+ e• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work) \9 B' w% v: I/ o. f
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
j: ?0 L" o& o. }% W• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
