T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip

interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,

What will take place in the sessions?1 U$ u7 `9 L; I. }
Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

These activities will enable youth to:

 Develop self-confidence and problem solving skills

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.* y/ b A& G2 z* b+ }* v) T- _
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily2 K0 c+ P3 K1 m8 _1 C- x/ r% u2 C
2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily9 j1 l" Z+ k9 a8 z4 u. \

Who can participate?& V9 W8 `& A9 d ~8 o1 J
Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.+ W# i, I4 w( U+ M

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?
* e' ^2 Q, |$ g6 w" O) g% BIt is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.
+ F0 P0 F% z) z! |3 u, z( {% c3 M" F, G; C9 r# i/ I8 Z- h
2 L4 O3 H$ U/ W; s6 y7 Y. yVolunteer’s Duties:
8 ^ D+ i. e A! a: w* W! L) {9 v6 s, u
 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies
( c6 `9 y$ Q/ |' f8 n Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
" i' Y! c+ [( l Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities
3 Y! w( Y0 F/ o& D7 R" b$ z Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
( X) N, {) n' y' y7 d3 C Research activities related to the sessions’ topic( R. T2 j$ s: h0 [* y3 F$ I' E
 Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips

 Be a role model6 c- Q' y/ V ]( m( c- T/ [0 [+ V

Volunteer Commitment: l* P! @% p1 m

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)4 t7 \& M: t; Y3 s' Z4 W
 One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer; h+ u; s2 E: ~! M& U9 L1 d

 Value the building on strengths of children, youth and families
