T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip
+ h. c6 I1 _* J4 r) T) VAsian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering / V3 k9 W9 `9 c' E4 t/ U" b
opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on
- L8 Z- b$ g! j @interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development, 6 [2 W7 A. ?- m* h, V+ E! W
and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

$ w% q* n1 t- H0 V( TRegular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.) U0 Z2 \8 b* O; G9 Q
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
/ }# F6 {6 Z% y1 v9 i) A 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily; [( t, y6 u% }

4 R! [) J; x! u% m- kAsian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.* E& l3 {9 U ^% W) u/ v& j2 c. g( W* I
: j, U$ ?, u v4 C+ O) h& C& tWhat is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?- C. S I" A( M! W
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:& X$ I2 j" _- b$ Y4 |5 I- J
/ W+ _: g" z! {7 T- n7 m
 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies ! j# Y# s5 O' _
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development ( g8 d7 N/ [: J9 }/ t! O8 W' X
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities2 D+ v7 x. h& L/ c
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
7 i/ Y2 }: g! n3 }% d- @4 u7 B- b Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
/ Y/ F# m b, g' Y Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips3 ]) K1 ?4 s8 k1 s+ h+ F

Volunteer Commitment:, @& g+ f# v4 O3 @3 f
' e P& l+ m: D- c! `% v: o0 l0 |% L On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
% P5 I5 k9 e- T( j6 G One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer
