In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.! x/ _; y) v3 ]: m

" j) r! I1 N6 J% z8 r, SSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
0 x& H4 n: @# q* M S5 P$ ESEDI is staffed to:
1 _4 _/ Z; n: t3 l+ o+ U8 E0 p; C X• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
/ G5 h% T) u" T- }• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
: E- V: V7 g* Q+ j+ I% `• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
! ^. l6 k0 q" v* r& \8 h8 e• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
, \0 a7 f4 |4 ^• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 2 t5 F/ B# T* q1 s
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 3 n* X7 e# W; _
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
) {. D6 J' {; |# h! z* `$ [/ C• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 8 Y! Z" i$ \! [3 w5 i
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
% P. @5 \* w# u. s7 `7 u. W+ S• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities % D$ w" U1 z6 A# o
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
( Q3 a! S! g W2 a9 v; q• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

' y( G# F5 e: x# i8 Y" p" @5 j6 r• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
/ Q$ o" |6 C, p& O& @• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
) Z8 S+ x$ T" F* ]• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting " \9 o6 b% l% j% y1 @% V4 S
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
5 y/ i+ V3 O; U% `3 S• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
+ T6 L) {4 ]) l• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
( ~' U" f; z6 \0 W& b• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
5 O# f+ C) h4 z: `: ]& P W0 _9 n• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
- H j) e1 E: l) h2 {• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them C- k6 v1 r! _; `
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 6 q* \ j+ s# d* ~! Y; @
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education U1 a" {8 ~+ h% n
• Content / curriculum development experience
! V, B/ P1 e% J• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners 4 ^9 F* l. B% f4 S$ Y* b# _
• Excellent organizational skills
9 S4 B3 T+ u# P0 @7 j• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset , N1 y/ H; B0 P: x# b# n$ h
• Marketing and communication experience an asset + S {. _; G2 N4 D
