Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
/ V5 ?5 e3 a8 O' U. s( ?7 |- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
C* a' Z2 R6 Y, S: E }/ a1 a# x& Z- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc." O$ V7 n5 Z; l! Z
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
) L7 @2 b. A$ ?- provide support to ISP staff8 |1 u8 f. d9 U/ W
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members1 C: i! K7 N6 ?9 m
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
$ r; ^& X$ {- ~- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated4 r9 [2 Z; u5 b# H4 ] @; m% k. I
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants/ `" X$ I6 \& q9 f* t
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- ~) [: i" E4 f; F- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
; U/ Q% b$ d E" T) T; p3 B6 [9 I- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
! N: A0 B4 ?$ o0 o! q, Y( l- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities$ J' U7 h6 H2 j! @$ [- P
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

Qualifications
- A+ O5 K7 {' G8 \1 a# [- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered, f' Z7 }0 u5 X9 n9 v
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available' G/ A; l: Y( V9 m
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers ~& }0 j2 D& m$ I' E
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
7 f y; |# f4 K* e' h$ y) b7 \& }% U- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
