如果总厚度一样，engineered更好，形态稳定，不容易开裂或起噪音。

That's an unsupported claim.

At the low end, common hardwood start at about $3/sqft. Engineered hardwood start at $6/sqft.

At the high-end it has more to do with the rarity of the wood.

The engineered hardwood that I saw, the surface layer is approximately the thickness of a laminate (hardwood looks). Is this too thin to be refinished? I heard the thickness varies, some can be refinished and some can't.
