regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
. l7 y5 f# y) }" K7 [8 j- ], G4 T0 Lsenator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
" `2 c  P: j6 V0 F9 hthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
0 u1 p+ g' V" a' v2 Vpreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
( i7 H( Y* m0 Y8 @( t1 T, Sfounder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
# n' @4 m- N+ p# R6 iColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
# D; U6 `* x7 ^0 ^, }9 xleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

& X, W" a- C( q! h5 ~In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
* t- G# P1 x3 b4 f1 B$ [5 o! npositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
% a7 O; q. v7 b- B' Jbut as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
  J; A$ h# j# t  x$ w0 Simmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
. l" C3 h" L$ qcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
" i# {1 E/ z3 VRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
% N8 U2 L+ h5 A5 `0 D' Ureceive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "

relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
/ o/ N4 I$ I0 {3 x( ^4 p! Rthe time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
