have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.

regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
7 y- Z$ L5 y6 I6 z3 nsenator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
9 O: W" K8 ^2 z9 _sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
, _% X2 F2 g, U4 {0 S" v% _abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
5 R! \9 }3 z" e( Yto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
: ^% l. J% |. E* c' G7 Q$ Rallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
- `2 v0 ]- G! Xthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
3 P  n! y* k6 T6 gBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
( A7 F. r' j! O8 mjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
2 b) ]/ W1 v- apreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
" m! Z  v3 U% O: q6 AColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
% P+ U2 a9 ?$ K$ @; b' {9 W: s# xleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

! p' f/ W' B6 c5 n4 N( |In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
) K% H' H+ s1 qbut as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
7 ?. X1 z! b4 F6 K) P, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
( w0 T& J1 b4 ]3 x- z. p: `7 Jimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
% P% ?. ~2 j+ h0 `counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
& \" l) }  r* O9 kministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
# i) y: v. ^( \& ]) _; n+ h& o0 t) ORalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
( u- v+ _. P0 \4 ~+ Q$ M6 erelationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
; X/ E6 [2 J: V+ lwasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
! v  [6 J& r9 preached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
: q% ~+ W0 \: H6 p3 F/ `6 f; ^9 hthe time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
