Responsibilities

2 F7 n9 T ?* R' i$ K. ] Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that , Q* k% v9 D% H4 _3 _
increase their capacity to participate fully in the community ! V& k# b4 S9 V, l; ?* q0 ~% g
 Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders. " ]0 Y1 [% J( d) f- k
 Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation
* ], f9 K5 X. K6 q/ u! f. g% n Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals6 U+ ?5 d9 }+ G1 V) M! @
 Facilitate group processes and workshops 2 S2 J4 m/ m$ B
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community& j/ [$ K# r( F1 @! i4 q
9 c' W/ m3 h# b" SBackground & Qualifications:

x L" ~$ g# o: O Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives 8 v) K/ O! @1 m% q6 b- P. t' i
 Community development and CED background and experience6 d& B9 T4 M3 A X: o& {- E
 Strong group facilitation skills ; t2 A5 f$ F& g# A; d; _
 Experience supervising staff# o& S, J- C, b; E0 o9 S
 Understanding of cross-cultural issues' u+ `/ X8 t6 b0 z9 [. Z3 Q
 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills

 Experience/facility with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Windows 95/98/2000, MS Office, MS Word, databases, spreadsheets etc.)
