Responsibilities
1 z1 u5 q' p* _; ~# g% u: t. H3 o8 C Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
) v2 H, G, p. J! H# V Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
1 U: h+ B( A4 e6 t3 x7 ` Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
& \  j- l/ A3 T/ G. O4 x. B1 t8 @$ a Social work degree or diploma
3 I1 y6 U! X+ t- d Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
% ~$ _+ `- ~0 k  M Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
- e6 D2 I0 X* M+ ]; @% D1 \6 p Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
9 n9 S9 c% E& [) T Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
