Responsibilities
0 C, {0 |* V9 I& Y' P Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
0 y+ K; l1 y9 r9 Z Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
. x% _; O6 y- y4 N Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
& l3 Z0 Q! c( ^" _1 W Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
: A3 n9 v; K( _1 G; J+ e Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
+ q' U6 P. j+ z' k; D& j5 \ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
