Responsibilities
. N# x+ }5 ~. f6 H: r9 k" k Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
* Z6 E( [& n- Z  T4 z Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
; @6 {! k4 x  U* M6 ` Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
; D6 J+ H8 o8 y) N Current RSW designation preferred   
) Z- v6 E8 J& s Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
( ]+ z& C+ T5 z7 I, ^ Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
" }# t1 J7 n: @9 a! p8 Y Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
0 E. U: k* }4 g! ] Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
