 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
8 K/ E+ H: g8 _5 {0 w Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
1 u1 @7 G* F6 {2 w# W Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

* g' a$ ^# k/ n0 z Social work degree or diploma
5 I. `: K& F1 s5 e Current RSW designation preferred   
2 @* Y4 V$ Z6 _3 i: p Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
! m+ `  O: R1 J0 J Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
0 I4 A, b, G# y Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
# j+ c$ s' X% ^4 y1 ?* [: e3 S Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
! S8 y! U/ U. e: {: V9 c. c8 f; ] Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
