Responsibilities
4 m" o# x7 K2 \3 F) M6 t( Z0 X' o Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
$ f  T+ K5 C& d3 `$ @ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
, y1 b: @" v+ b  Y Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
7 k6 X9 `5 l0 N; E/ s0 D1 H* I! J7 f Current RSW designation preferred   
6 L9 T+ E, G) D' l+ M7 u Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
' v+ H4 J( S1 {5 M! j Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
( s+ V4 o8 {7 }, R' T) ?* h Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
