Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
9 j# P" z: W0 n. n1 A Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
! \2 f! J: [% V0 l6 q( D4 c Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
9 O2 f  t' v. K* s# W. K1 L: a& u Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
9 T3 W; Q* s4 F0 \# O! E. p Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
, H! L$ R6 \6 g Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
! @) b9 l: B* u2 ~8 O: w Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
/ l8 _- w) O$ Z6 Y6 U' `' Z( b Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
& X: K: T* F9 ^3 ]  D, A$ a! j! c Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
