Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
5 |6 r7 z) R8 j- a' E! }, ^ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
0 B, m- Z3 Q3 ?5 Z" t5 f Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
: Z9 Q) T& d% q- U8 {0 o Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
9 w  p" r5 h, s8 ?2 f/ |+ ~5 t2 ?+ R Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
' D0 H6 `* V2 N2 C Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
8 I$ w3 d4 j9 R7 Y9 b8 k& t' m Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
% b  f6 _! U7 B% \: O! O; W
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
/ B  Z& @. Y: C, A1 _ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

7 N) y. l9 X" N' K1 DThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
