Key Responsibilities & Duties:

1 @1 m  x) y6 w1 F5 `. ]+ \ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
+ L7 q- ~1 `* u( m Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
8 D' r2 N& n9 o% D, c! I+ A Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
9 J: Y5 `$ w/ H' @4 \ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
9 f$ b3 e7 K) F. ? Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
% Q/ {; Z2 _! s6 f% X' { Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
% ]3 G4 D$ [6 {5 ]3 F# r# m Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
/ G% M  w5 R' I# V7 U  z' p* j, b
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
3 _, d$ Y$ x1 O9 c" t3 m1 e; ^/ V8 ~/ w" g Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 [1 L. R/ F4 _( ^: e3 y Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

: N# r, O( d) E3 gPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 K% ~$ O) t1 G, rstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
