Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
7 H5 ^0 L, @3 O% J- n$ j8 } Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
+ c9 U& Q! H# G+ s( s. @ Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
8 F9 m3 E( q7 p* x Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
- I0 x* @3 f$ m' ? Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
6 R7 ?8 e0 q/ S9 W5 f8 F Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
/ [) U- m0 d+ M1 w Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
. B! g. _" `- q Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

7 V! V9 }6 B6 m% v  `, f) k+ C Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
/ @7 s; `3 v( Y2 W0 G% N* H2 @ Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
, V  X" D1 c; Y# N* |* s$ kThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
6 H6 ~# m: [" V8 F: \starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
