The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS1 ^* D9 t( w, ^
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
5 m8 g/ ?( M5 I8 V' l: y& U$ j• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.( |7 W9 B2 y% S- r6 s2 D2 j6 t
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
+ k# ?8 C' R0 t- J9 V$ s• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
4 W8 J1 x) A& Q2 u: @• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
( B/ j/ G5 ]1 \. X- ?• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
, O# B6 n$ o1 f! Y2 D+ f• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
2 E, J* C& P, }. T9 T3 n: z• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
0 B" N( U+ ~5 _. m; d$ D• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO& ~3 n& Z) b! j. ^6 t$ d' z
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position' }1 }& Y: ]% V _' I8 Q
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation, N3 H! m( e! j" K3 N) D
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% ^5 {) [: z: q& S
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department4 a f, S M7 e% k
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
$ v9 ^" i7 O/ B. @• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency5 v; i( h% L* ?! @ W
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services& u. f- }) N8 ~# b3 E
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes0 I; B, V: P8 e! y6 S
• Prepare a regular monthly program report7 S/ q5 Q& g# Q5 e; [' C

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
4 D) m) ~ q0 ? ~2 F8 O( ?, h• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS# ?$ ?$ |; S o$ G' \
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers }: d- e) ^& s) h1 R. [
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
- w7 v2 i7 l5 J• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination6 i* q. g; B& @, n. D. Z& H* u3 j! r
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability4 Z9 @7 z# C. p: ~4 |6 g
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills+ X5 |9 U: z. S$ Y8 e+ Z- [
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
