The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA./ k5 m, B0 {9 Q& q( k) s

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
( H' S- Y, J( C9 k) C1 x, t4 `• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.* O) w% T% A( ]$ J
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
3 Y/ ?) h4 r7 b6 @$ ?• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.; ]% g; P3 Y. M9 A9 [5 X
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
; w3 \4 H8 J" ]0 Z6 ~• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.2 v4 }! `6 C. Y- k# n
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.9 i" L2 U6 g$ Q4 H6 J
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
* M9 r+ I& _4 i, }: K4 J* X( r8 l• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
6 d. X+ b% L y" N0 L8 G$ j+ z* @• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
m3 ?$ z$ x, b% `• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
2 C! z; \( @3 E5 P3 g• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
J7 G- s/ D# J% R- X• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
" s' r/ \3 g( \, B0 T• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department/ E1 W! j! O7 F! J
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 6 {5 e% U; Z8 O, a
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
$ H6 s' X* Z8 y( j& V4 O• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required$ T, f4 D8 F; W I) S, p

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS7 S& ~; |# x+ G3 L! [/ Q0 U
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
2 n( c+ G% _2 O' }1 K) d• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)# u- q+ |8 c" u" |
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
& J0 S8 B9 f0 l' a. f) w7 M9 W- q1 H! F• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

5 v+ _4 h* J: o0 N; v M• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" | b* F0 G) q8 N
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
8 w* g* J* o0 K. o: X• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
. x$ X9 R C& j, b* _* G- a• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills $ B* A' C2 O _: @3 @" r( ^, \& c
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure0 L+ v x/ x0 r( N* q2 i4 Z
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial / B/ o+ T3 S. Z7 {. X' p
