Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
  Z' x3 [. W  m  U. w* d( {+ P•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
% p8 a) y7 @* Z# r( e•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
& i" f2 X$ \1 o) N•        Others.

9 e7 {1 u3 g) ]  _3 J2 B4 A7 s9 BQualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
  Q: b) r# R/ s. b, E% N. z! |•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
! o( T: w0 D( W0 C1 i3 p•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

& F' v1 M8 A7 |5 ECompensation:
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
