Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

Major Responsibilities:
+ B% S9 v; p h6 G• Process research equipment design;& A* D' e' f) W0 M3 G" W% q# Y
• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;2 g. O6 ^2 h" G" i+ K- D! U+ J+ J; A
• Equipment fabrication guidance;
9 ^' m% H% d& F! C0 G* U, k9 }; F• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
0 J9 i; W) |; D3 O6 B# W6 T! \• Others.

Qualifications:
" v1 ~- S* m: U$ J- p- Z! w6 H* a: l• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
: p! P& t- j4 e% Q' W: b' N s( |• Equipment design experience is required;! E, B4 \/ ?8 y8 N
• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
5 U1 [2 B: d. `* t+ {8 _, ?• Familiar with CAD software;
2 [0 B$ x Q' L M: e• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
8 Y+ g( `! A3 \5 x/ U% S• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:- [. w+ |+ Y7 }! f' L9 y( n
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
