! [$ T% I  j  N& YKey Responsibilities & Duties:

) c/ `$ y7 E% [, E9 E; }3 b2 x Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
# n$ a0 b; U, l& c9 K+ g: B% u Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
) F8 F" F: m7 q% v Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
1 n1 ^( _% k( A) p9 n Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
* }1 d7 U/ V) p2 d$ j" A9 c Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
/ v6 B7 W" ^+ Q5 f; s/ b Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
5 Y$ a! s3 z8 F+ Q Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
( S4 }8 R. D# h, o8 L: w& F. f/ r8 A Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ S. f0 X& _$ t( n4 s8 l* | Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
+ a! j1 i) y0 Y Knowledge of community resources.
7 P2 X+ v( S8 t Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

! g2 [7 Y9 e% T2 B5 S8 HThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
, ?, I# ^' {. t- j" Ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
