Key Responsibilities & Duties:

; [. [2 h! V0 T, _( k/ f4 V& ~7 L Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
& M* d; K& J1 X0 M) D Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
1 g4 a& E/ H" Z. ~& l Completing required paperwork.
6 r- l& ]! B0 u Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
, A# v! B# a; Y- [1 ^ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
5 z* C* m) a/ w, |* E Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
% e! T; Q3 L) w5 d+ h/ @ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
3 k5 A! D8 _, q- j6 ?1 t Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
( o8 B6 V2 ]5 k3 N5 W: r9 Z1 w Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ E: e  }# B! Q( J# k2 I- q# x Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
8 O. Z* V! k. K Knowledge of community resources.
8 h2 A. s" J4 _" K- N  L Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
0 Q( r$ }& o) c7 S Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% [8 L; g8 f/ a/ oThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
. p3 f- q# x( N& |, {5 Ostarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
