0 `& u* c* a& }5 xKey Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" U0 y' D3 z# ^  e3 s# w Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
5 u4 m  h% }2 k" d0 T Completing required paperwork.
) H9 e. Q$ @6 L2 G) Z  |. @( L3 Q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
  h5 c! h* G2 ?. Z Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
4 b0 e  F; ]' K9 k Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
+ C" p; W4 K1 z3 h Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

$ w. s% G5 V8 H/ ~/ E# H+ U Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
3 t4 c( [9 a  t8 W Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

6 {9 L1 b/ u1 u" k/ bThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
