Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
% ~4 O$ E5 ]+ Y- [- v8 K8 X Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* j  o5 ~; O, c; b2 h- Z" R" q Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
) |) p& n. \' j1 n- C Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
4 ]' Z1 C' |+ Q, Z6 n Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
4 e/ V+ G0 l$ ?4 V Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
& X9 ~4 `2 b+ r Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
& p( H  K6 M3 [& `% u" e Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

" f1 l1 A2 A, D" S3 p0 | Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 P  ~7 L# p% Y1 b: p4 { Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; v8 G1 a0 [1 C) {7 C  m Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
- @( P! X4 R: jThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
