Position: Project Coordinator, Peace Ambassadors Program / Terms: Full-time / Start Date: August 15th 2010 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $40,462 - $56,410 per year (full benefit and pension package) / Hours: 35 hours per week, some weekends & evenings / Closing Date: July 19, 2010.

Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.$ V( g6 }. g/ Z% ]5 Z' Z
0 T% G5 u7 Q5 s" x U6 ~1 t) q/ ?Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.6 y1 H4 ]- }9 A" {7 X" E4 B
* h, {/ l7 A8 ?Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.

& e- J' U+ H7 ?* B$ r- _' {# CNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.& k' Z9 {7 {$ d2 q

Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.2 O( M# s& u" `& y4 q9 x$ T

Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.

! _# v% s. s5 ?Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.% ~ `5 P) ^, J8 A: y3 v
