As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
+ ?5 W! E$ l( P3 c" [' R5 Y• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
, N% M4 q# H5 I3 A! O  h• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
% V! l2 z; {* X5 Z4 v4 i• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
2 D# R( k! I: R6 e: q• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
0 }" X) w2 R* }* n! g* @* G1 A; P• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
8 ]9 W5 v  W# G( f- @• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) [; k( O* w' k3 ^& U• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
1 x! ~8 o2 p2 r; \7 M• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
2 E+ G' l. W& h, t+ T. ?7 j( n• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
