FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

7 S& i' b6 {0 o( }- aDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
, B9 N" {+ d. R/ R/ k$ s• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

: c2 s  Q  d# |* a' ^• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
7 t! b- ~8 x1 Z* O• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
9 d9 B# X: T$ v) d1 \0 |! ~• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
: Z+ L* n: Z6 d• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments

# L  Y, _5 X1 s( jSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
; i' V' v3 I) o• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
, z; _& t2 [  C. p/ s( O• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
9 z4 C6 U3 b$ `  ~% T: W• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
" r8 G( U/ Q6 J( c3 [• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
