Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:0 f4 o8 n x+ t" Y( X |# K2 V, _
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. ! |! g. k( ~0 V) y5 K9 f
It is a cycle." c: b2 v6 U& l0 f! @
, R* ~9 J, _8 ~3 V# i d# t1 uWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
) @- m% J3 S( r4 aSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
/ y* D1 p$ {! g) h; eThe problem should be inside the bucket.

$ _" o6 T0 _- d, E& I G3 Q- c* o2 AWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.: U0 L& i" Z# D' ?2 K' I7 R
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.: {1 A0 N# Z, N
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.( S X6 B. w1 l: x1 M+ ^* |: A" K
0 w- Y+ y; d3 Y( ~3 u1 CThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
) V: Q7 q: E! Y& C9 [. I0 eThey have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again." W8 Q( V( T. Z% R/ Q- w
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. 3 k; Y* W2 a/ c+ i

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
