Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
`# `0 U% o- \! _; {/ G: W After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.4 W% }2 Q: O" Z' n
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
; I% g6 k2 U; V1 s/ e2 @The problem should be inside the bucket.3 f' ~, G5 h6 `# p6 E# R

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.: L! M$ S4 {% ^/ S
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.4 w! B+ F4 ]1 P% ]1 `4 L, h
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.5 }8 R$ d" l, Q x6 C( ]

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.4 ~5 k6 W+ h; R( a/ @ X- q5 m) r
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
( w. R9 Y o/ v g# i7 P It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. 7 a2 y6 \) Y( B" r7 p- A+ d- O

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
