Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
( U. X" O* p; D  {/ C+ kTerms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
( _( C) m3 q' Z6 |) ~# |' b  SCompensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
: G' C( |* F5 F7 ]4 l' @. x% o9 L-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
; P+ F; ~7 }' C9 ?) I( a8 R-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
& Y* {. M3 S+ T) x-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
- c/ ^5 D  [& @0 w+ q-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
0 E; C2 g- w/ z0 u) m0 g-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
# f3 A& R2 h2 S* v-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
8 n' [- j4 x1 _-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
; ?( f( B+ g, f9 m% `8 s9 O  k-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
