Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Responsibilities:
( H0 \7 P' H# u$ Q- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth( s$ `% r4 w3 y; X" c5 Y; |/ N
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
8 S1 v6 F! I8 V* ]& |# i9 L/ ]; n- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
) Z2 }% \( ~( N6 a3 V, \- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
$ `! P9 T# ?. K5 N' P- R- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

% U* V5 R: x! n: Z, t' t7 ]Key Qualifications:
0 d2 D: h& B2 }* e9 J- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences _4 _! G& @# D! u1 }& f3 R
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
* r) r! R( s5 V- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
% O) H; A1 g; I8 x" F# Q. P- Experience doing program development6 | O6 Q" S( q
- Strong organizational and coordination skills. G/ Z w5 N" U3 N, E0 j( _
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
4 O6 Q0 Z+ t. M6 i! @- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
8 K1 O9 }* x+ i3 @2 v- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities7 u5 `; F$ @# h w$ U" E4 c
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
% v, F$ A6 U) N( a b' i- Skills in marketing & promotions
