To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

" U1 T5 ]5 |1 y- Ehave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician 5 e" |8 v& |. m/ l# o0 x
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience. }: M) }8 b& x4 ?* F- g
% p E: w0 O, f' Ecomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

* W/ i$ p! Q5 G1 }. u% P. F7 O# ipay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above 8 I X8 X; P' K" B0 D* n
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
