available, including signs and symptoms of influenza and what you should

In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for+ Z4 s1 y9 [" u1 p, w9 }9 D, [: C( @
your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the
9 I6 ? D t' i' w* o3 }; Kinfluenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
- W1 z, D; o+ q+ x3 O/ `contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
0 D* ]$ |3 v1 N4 edoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and w9 V2 w) N. ~, O, m$ D
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.3 D% s2 @+ c+ ^0 y4 v/ I. j
Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your
& q. }1 g+ t# _cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta
* l# C0 t, O# I: p7 {Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of/ h2 Z! [1 R: j" n
infection." T4 C9 s W" ?# y* l: v
