THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
! _/ [5 [6 y5 b+ p. ZThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
2 ]8 _4 z/ o, j2 \5 K" UEligibility Criteria
( ~7 p  r' h; MAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
& l$ k0 r5 T7 y( o( |+ [•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
9 `! n' F' \6 a/ F•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
( t& b+ Q/ v, g5 `1 M  A•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
" n) z0 R5 N- E/ K# g" ~- b' r•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less

•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
# I' j+ e$ F! R9 {; ?9 V: D0 r* U•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
6 x6 S. {6 {. h" `& l$ HThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
