THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
G2 E& i* y, Z2 \& F7 T, ]Eligibility Criteria' [' q2 ?4 c6 M. }4 o
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
' B1 I, s+ j& V0 I•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
3 i$ N! j/ ^7 g9 I2 ]•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education; U, J! h$ [! F& a% g x& I2 z9 M0 I
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English8 X+ c' P. G0 n- J/ [3 ~/ P$ B$ d
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
$ O4 L( d: W1 r" y+ Y5 x•No prior Canadian work experience in their field# T; w* Z3 L, I2 V* {
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less) `( X+ q# ^2 Y* }
•Be eligible to work in Canada* ~0 u2 m/ B! ?# c( N! _2 ~
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
, M* g4 o L5 H# ?+ M•Lack access to professional networks+ Q" T# g, I5 R7 a
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning% r; u$ v1 W; i7 z2 g
Time Commitment
8 V5 ]) p( b, ]. C2 k( a* z, L+ EThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.$ m. o4 S% Z2 Y6 ]- J- G: E
