24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
. w! R$ \4 N; i; ]+ Q: @) u5 ]This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
, w' M* F8 u, Q' G+ GEligibility Criteria# k# i. w7 E; |8 V3 M3 }$ q4 A, f
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:7 y' b$ o9 ]- H) o9 h8 T- E
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less0 U* V5 U/ k# {( x8 i
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education A4 U- F6 e3 K. V, W6 Z) F
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
2 S/ }0 s" z9 B5 P" q: H# s2 ^•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada + D; J% }/ m/ L6 F
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field0 S% g" B. j% X6 U$ e
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less$ [5 e3 s+ N/ l. B: i% u
•Be eligible to work in Canada
, }9 n7 ] v9 N; Q2 [•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop. Q5 e4 G1 Z- V7 t% C+ v3 A
•Lack access to professional networks
$ r" x9 X4 V+ g2 n4 D. J•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

* a: \3 | x0 AThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
