' L* Z  t1 X5 @' C' g4 l8 jChange for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

& `/ W3 ]* V0 BCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public., z  w* t' m  k$ F: |% _

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.* n! @8 o6 E8 d5 X

4 u1 N* z! @* M• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

! L9 h& Q2 u3 t• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

) Y9 x5 e% n' ?% c6 ]• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.0 `+ W2 ]& U6 c" W. s  P7 B

: U0 C( {7 {0 u( Z$ ~- A  ?• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.2 u8 ]4 A! K7 E
! |, v0 t& p) v2 E3 f/ ^
• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

. c  H( A3 r6 Z: H' [• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.5 o7 M4 n' m4 `8 a" ~- z4 \

6 q% U- l$ E, S0 Y) t, ~1 z" n• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

( n8 I: m  W7 l1 O. E( X9 O• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting9 g2 M8 D( j( S+ z

1 v) I+ T6 s3 Q# D• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
