Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.

Police say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

Officers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.3 v, g( I( W. ~) |
; z+ x4 {. R9 N$ \0 d$ H' M- N+ \3 KPolice say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

2 }- }9 x5 q" tRoughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.
