A 20-year-old woman has been charged after a tenant found the dead body of a baby girl under a bed in a north-end Edmonton home last week.3 O) W& M# G6 g) \7 |; W

Naomi Russell-Simpson is charged with committing an indignity to a body, neglect to obtain assistance in child birth and concealing the body of a child.$ O9 `% T5 N3 U, G$ S2 B8 s

The 20-year-old college student was granted bail Tuesday.

4 i* s7 n0 _' }" n% g- x% h! vPolice have released few details on the autopsy results, but said Tuesday the girl was born alive. The girl's death is still being labelled as suspicious and not a homicide.

, |" ?' M" E! g1 JThe infant was found on March 19 when a man sharing a home at 69 Street and 130 Avenue, who would only identify himself as Wayne, entered the basement suite to do some laundry.: m: E% r2 U/ P1 p$ e

Wayne said his dog began barking and eventually led him to the body. He and his girlfriend called police after they saw a small hand in the bag.0 E. ^6 m0 ], _2 E6 D: C

Police said the girl's body was wrapped in towels and placed in a plastic bag.
