Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 5 o2 ?9 X# A. k
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
& h0 P- I# V- X, h' C! m/ u9 \# xPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
, W& |1 w" D7 y$ G· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
# p3 I$ E4 n( t8 v· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ]3 i' \3 h4 [! T. B, L- K7 V
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
2 a6 N, a; z% Sadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 5 k" b( _5 `9 @# s: ?; H0 s
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ) |& z) `% [- ~( i5 k2 k
· Attend and manage Special Events
$ y9 x( f5 ]. I· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
" j/ w/ v1 w j3 t2 A. F. c1 a· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
1 p# U4 L0 O' T; c% T6 q· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
6 m" B! A) [% J* q5 N· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers : B$ ?# I! d2 ]3 W& [5 I7 W2 j
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
/ m# ]5 V+ p4 @/ u· Complete program administration, statistics and records 0 v. u$ M2 s' N; v

! H' o& b( h! r! D· Completion of 12th
) @% l8 Y; N. Y Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
& A% F5 G! x# ]' g# n7 m3 [# [Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ' ]1 ^# x2 ?5 N" r/ w6 Z! |
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
0 H8 W; A) i$ Texperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 9 o: ~* ~) r: W. O1 w- v9 A9 B
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
6 f; N7 _8 _) V1 e· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors : y6 \' W8 {; D7 A3 J
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events $ |$ S5 z6 f7 x( |' R e6 J# v
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ( \. N# C8 s, \$ _. ~5 H0 i. ]
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work * V9 z' G: u/ H% {
