* O; B3 `; o! U/ T. b2 PUnder the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
6 ?; [0 X6 d u7 SEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ( q: l( p& U' A& U
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
& c5 i9 p2 E& Q: p L4 G0 ]8 E· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
- o; B- h) m. jwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 3 `) W: C* t) b( G+ S5 s* P
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 9 W) @& t- o1 x( u, Y
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: % j b3 q+ q& Z
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
# H7 h; S2 G" l2 v· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 2 [! ?2 H# U" ?7 O2 s7 x3 a+ ~ [
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
/ n; o; a! t* v1 j· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
+ t* i" M2 l S- q3 g· Complete program administration, statistics and records $ k/ i1 A9 p: g
. q" T- J- w. T( f: G. Q1 ?& YQualifications:
) M6 j* [- i: w( H3 T· Completion of 12th
: d, W$ ]* E6 z0 K, } Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
; E, K! v+ J& \5 A0 F) p" ]" aAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 7 j! ]0 T/ j* h) `
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 9 W* }4 {, L3 @$ E
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
0 t$ u/ x- `3 A" G2 U· Experience working with and managing volunteers # `0 d, R J; t$ S1 Q
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 1 o1 Q2 v4 q# I
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ' r* [2 o" j) }! m3 ~ h+ U8 p
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 3 P' @& M. ^8 [3 s' B& Y- o
· Security Clearance $ W# H% F3 D- K- b$ e
3 G Y3 l! W8 G5 xHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
